Voting opens on 20 July!

It’s almost time to choose Labour’s candidate for East Midlands Mayor.

What’s the election for?
From 2024, a new East Midlands Combined Authority covering the region of Nottinghamshire County Council, Nottingham City Council, Derbyshire County Council and Derby City Council will be created. A new East Midlands Mayor will oversee this new authority and will have significant tools at their disposal, and significant funding, to make changes that will affect your life and your community.

The East Midlands has been the lowest-funded region of the UK for decades. This role needs someone who is energetic, resilient, experienced, and well connected. It isn’t a ceremonial role.

I live here, I’m raising my family here and over the last decade I’ve taken leading roles in our NHS here. I have a commitment to ensure our next generation has hope, opportunities and skills to live a good life.

As your Labour East Midlands Mayor I will bring  my combined experience of politics, business and public sector service to champion our region,  making Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire a better place to live, work and learn.

When can I vote?
Ballots will be emailed on 20th July between 10am-2pm. Postal ballot papers will also be issued on the 20th July taking 2-3 days to land on your doormat.

Not had a ballot paper or have an issue?
The last day for a postal re-issue is Monday 31st July and the last day for an email re-issue is Wednesday 3rd July at noon.
