It was a real privilege to meet with veterans and organisations that support those from military service.
We had an opportunity to discuss some of the challenges that face those who have served in our armed forces. They include mental health issues, getting into work, homelessness, and reintegrating into society.
If I’m elected on Thursday, my pledge is to make our region a more welcoming, understanding and supportive place for our veterans and their families. That means better housing and access to retraining and skills opportunities.
