A huge thank you to both Keolis and GMB Midlands for inviting me to take a tour of the Wilkinson Street NET tram depot on Wednesday (20 December).
I sat down with tram bosses to hear about the day-to-day running of the network and the challenges that come from that. It was really interesting to hear from drivers, inspectors and engineers about their roles, and how hard the GMB branch reps work to ensure NET remains a good place to work.
If elected as East Midlands mayor, I will ensure Nottingham’s tram remains a key part of the city and county’s public transport offer, as well as making our region’s bus network more affordable and reliable.
