Meeting with Friends of the Earth

I had a great meeting with East Midlands Friends of the Earth to hear how the incoming mayor can work collaboratively to tackle the climate and nature crisis impacting communities across our area.

We covered a huge range of issues, including a just transition to net zero, sustainable transport options, the potential for the East Midlands to be a leader in hydrogen, new energy-efficient homes, and retrofitting older houses too. If elected as mayor, I will work to tackle the climate and nature crisis. I also attended an online policy discussion this week with the regional Walking and Cycling Alliance, who are keen to get more of us using sustainable transport and reducing the number of car journeys across the region.
